- VLAN Support: This 6x6 LAN based HDMI Matrix Switcher can be installed on your existing LAN as it have VLAN capability. Our VLAN HDMI Matrix System uses VLAN technology to isolate and protect the HDMI signals from other traffic on your network. Devices on the same VLAN can communicate with each other as if they were on the same physical network, even if they are connected to different switches or routers.

What is the WolfPack 1080p 6x6 HDMI over IP matrix switcher?
A: The WolfPack 1080p 6x6 matrix switcher distributes HDMI video and audio over a Gigabit Ethernet network. It uses network transmitters and receivers to route sources to multiple displays.
The 6x6 configuration provides 6 HDMI source input(s) and 6 display outputs, with 1080p distribution, flexible routing, tablet/PC control, and video wall capabilities.
How many sources and displays does the 6x6 system support?
A: The 6x6 system supports 6 source input(s) and 6 outputs. An operator can route a source to one output, several outputs, or all available outputs.
This flexible matrix architecture is useful when different displays need different content or when one source needs to be distributed to multiple screens.
How far can the HDMI signal be extended?
A: The system can distribute 1080p video up to approximately 450 feet over CAT6/7 cabling through the LAN transmitter and receiver architecture.
Proper network equipment and cabling are important for reliable operation. Compatible PoE endpoints can also receive power through the network connection.
Can any input be routed to any output?
A: Yes. The matrix supports any-input-to-any-output routing, including sending one source to multiple outputs or distributing different sources to different displays.
Routing can be managed through supported iPad, Android, and Windows control methods, making it practical for installations where display assignments need to change.
Does the system provide real-time iPad video preview?
A: Yes. A major feature is wireless real-time source preview on an iPad. The operator can see live source video before deciding which source to send to a display.
This makes source identification easier in applications with multiple receivers or channels. Android tablet preview/control is also supported on the listed systems.
Does the matrix support video walls?
A: Yes. The systems include video wall processing and can combine outputs into coordinated video wall configurations. The listed systems support 1080p-class output processing.
This allows the same infrastructure to be used for conventional matrix switching and multi-display video wall applications, subject to the specific model configuration.
Does the system support Power over Ethernet?
A: The listed AV-over-IP configurations use PoE-compatible transmitters and receivers, allowing network infrastructure to provide power as well as data to supported endpoints.
PoE can simplify installations by reducing separate power connections at endpoint locations. A managed PoE switch with adequate power capacity should be selected for the complete system.
Does the system support VLAN networking?
A: Yes. The applicable WolfPack AV-over-IP systems support VLAN operation, allowing AV traffic to be isolated from other network traffic while devices assigned to the same VLAN communicate across the network.
The network architecture can also support cascaded Ethernet switches, which can help extend systems across multiple rooms or floors when the network is properly designed.
What resolutions and video standards are supported?
A: The systems support video formats up to 1920x1080p, with additional lower-resolution formats listed for the transmitter and receiver. The exact HDMI, HDCP, and compression standards vary by model.
The 6x6 model is specified with HDMI 2.0 / HDCP 2.2. Users should match the selected model to the HDMI/HDCP requirements of the source and display equipment.
What are the latency and switching characteristics?
A: The 2x6, 3x6, and 4x6 systems specify approximately 80 ms latency and seamless four-frame switching around 60 ms. These characteristics are intended to provide responsive source changes over the IP network.
The 6x6 model provides selectable modes, with approximately 50 ms latency in low-latency mode and about 250 ms in high-quality mode. Actual performance can depend on network conditions and operating mode.
